JAGGED FENCES
After graduating from the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, with a BFA in Art & Design, I embarked on a three month hitchhiking adventure throughout Europe. On returning to NYC, I began to work on a hitchhiking series of large 30” x 40” mixed medium drawings on paper. The fence post became a continual theme in this series and into the Hudson Valley series of paintings.
The ‘Jagged Fences Hitchhiking Series’, has been exhibited in a group exhibit called ‘The Shifted Landscape’, at the P.S. 122 Gallery, NYC.
The ‘Jagged Fences of the Hudson Valley’, have been shown at the Dance Space, NYC; Pathways exhibit at the Greene Co. Council of the Arts, Catskill, NY, and other group shows.

Large Landscapes
In 1998, I received a three month Artist-In-Residency Award from the Woodstock School of Art, Woodstock, NY. During the residency, I hung four large 5 ft. x 7 ft. canvases. The paintings were directly inspired by the landscape of the Catskill Mountain region of New York.
The series have been exhibited in a solo exhibition called ‘Pathways’, at the Greene County Council on the Arts, Catskill, NY; the Dance Space Studios, NYC; 34th windows for Thornton Bay Men’s Fall Fashion, Macy's Herald Square, NYC; Solo exhibition at the Old Leeds Firehouse Gallery,NY.
The caption painting ‘In Praise of All Things’, was chosen for the ambassador residency in a two year art exhibit in Sarajevo, Bosnia through the Art & Embassy program, Washington, DC.

Warhorse/warrior series iii
It was during the Kosovo War of 1999 that I began painting the ‘Warhorse/Warrior Series III’. My paintings tell an illustrated story of the wounded warrior coming home from battle in the dark ages and enter into the promise of the 21st Century. In his travels, the Warhorse/Warrior continues along a path towards healing and spiritual growth. The ‘Warhorse/Warrior Series III’, was shown in a solo exhibition at the Open Space Gallery in the Newport Art Museum, Newport, RI, and a solo exhibition at the Grey Horse Farms Grand Opening, Cairo, NY.

New england rock series
In 2002, I graduated from a two year certificate program in Natural Science Illustration at the Rhode Island School of Design, Providence, RI. Upon graduating, I would spend my free time as a Plein Air painter. Because I would sit low to the ground or on rocks at the ocean’s edge, I started to observe the array of colorful life forms attached to the rocks at low tide.
The ‘New England Rock Series,’ has been exhibited in two solo exhibitions, at the Audubon Society's Educational Center of Bristol, RI, and at the Greenwich Connecticut Audubon Society, Greenwich, CT.

Tidal Pool series
After having had two solo exhibitions called ‘Water’s Edge”, at the Audubon Society, I started to work on the Tidal Pool Series. In order to pursue this body of work, I first spent a period of time working on painting studies outdoors among the rocky coastline of Rhode Island. This involved sitting on a rock with my feet submerged in the water so that I could look down at the smaller details within the tidal pools at low tide. I also began to observe the way the water’s surface movement and sunlight changed the way the objects below the water were effected visually.
A group of four paintings were shown at the Fish House Art Center, Port Salerno, FL

florida clusters series
In 2012, I had spent the winter on the coast of Florida. Each afternoon, I would sit on the beach for a quick watercolor study of shells and other sea life. These studies helped to create the series of paintings called the ‘Florida Clusters’.
These five paintings were exhibited at the G4 Gallery in downtown Orlando, FL.
